Cookie's NFL Investment Strategies: Week 7

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

After bouncing back in Week 6, Cookie looks to parlay his good fortune by going heavy this week.

Week 1-2 results Week 3 results Week 4 results Week 5 results Week 6 Results

Me return to form last week thanks to big wins in night games. Thank you Atlanta and Denver. Also, great moment in sports gambling when Baltimore fight back against Minnesota to only lose by 2. Heroic effort, Ravens.

Light schedule this week as 6 teams have bye. Me pump up wagers on compensate.

Green Bay 3-2 at Cleveland 1-5 (+9)
Cleveland show a lot of heart last week in only losing by 13 when they getting 14. Can they make similar magic with only 9 this week? Intriguing. Me not going to watch, but intriguing.
Me lay 220 on Cleveland Result: Green Bay 31, Cleveland 3  -220

San Francisco 3-2 at Houston 3-3 (-3)
Texans bury me last week with unexpected win at Cincinnati. Niners coming off bye week following pasting by Atlanta. Me expect season-defining game from Niners, defined by loss.
Me lay 330 on Houston Result: Houston 24, San Francisco 21  PUSH  -30

San Diego 2-3 at Kansas City 1-5 (+5)
Chiefs return home triumphant after low-quality win at Washington. Question whether Chargers ready to fall off table. Me certainly hope so.
Me lay 330 on Kansas City Result: San Diego 37, Kansas City 7  -330

Indianapolis 5-0 at St. Louis 0-6 (+14)
Last week me get burned in double-digit spread games, but how can me believe this going to be close? Peyton not betray me yet.
Me lay 550 on Indianapolis Result: Indianapolis 42, St. Louis 6   +500

New England 4-2 vs. Tampa Bay 0-6 (London, ENG) (+15.5)
Bucs play respectable game last week, while Pats put machine screws to Titans in snow. London not happy with 0-6 team coming across pond. Me say it more interesting if Bucs play Manchester United, or if Tom Brady not allowed to use hands.
Me lay 330 on New England Result: New England 35, Tampa Bay 7   +300

Minnesota 6-0 at Pittsburgh 4-2 (-4)
Me stubborn in me belief that Favre time running out. When last time Steelers get points at home?
Me lay 440 on Pittsburgh Result: Pittsburgh 27, Minnesota 17   +400

Buffalo 2-4 at Carolina 2-3 (-7)
Both teams coming off unimpressive wins. Me find it hard to believe Panthers one touchdown better. Ugly, shitty game.
Me lay 330 on Buffalo Result: Buffalo 20, Carolina 9   +300

New York Jets 3-3 at Oakland 2-4 (+7)
Is Jamarcus Russell turning corner? Is Sanchez regressing? Is this really future of NFL?
Me lay 330 on Oakland Result: New York Jets 38, Oakland 0  -330

Chicago 3-2 at Cincinnati 4-2 (-1.5)
Bengals fucking me over all year. Me go heavy on Bears for pure spite. Me look for me man Robbie Gould to kick game-winner.
Me lay 330 on Chicago Result: Cincinnati 45, Chicago 10   -330

Atlanta 4-1 at Dallas 3-2 (-4)
Me loving Falcons and hoping they stay afloat to make for big matchup with Saints. Me hating Cowboys, though me sense desperation in big D. Me also hear Jerry Jones going to import dancers from Blue Flame for cage dancing to distract Falcons players.
Me lay 440 on Dallas Result: Dallas 37, Atlanta 21  +400

New Orleans 5-0 at Miami 2-3 (+7)
Me not sense South Florida climate going to slow Saints offense. Me also not feeling Ricky Williams motivation to stick it to old team. Nothing against Wildcat, but can it score 40 points?
Me lay 440 on New Orleans Result: New Orleans 46, Miami 34  +400

Arizona 3-2 at New York Giants 5-1 (-7)
Me not ready to call death on Giants after last week's loss. Me not feeling Warner revenge in Meadowlands either. Too windy.
Me lay 330 on New York Giants Result: Arizona 24, New York Giants 17   -330

Philadelphia 3-2 at Washington 2-4 (+7)
Ahh, Redskins. Now a national audience will get to see what me know all along. That you not going to lose by 7.
Me lay 440 on Washington Result: Philadelphia 27, Washington 17  -440

Current Bankroll: $12410 (+2410 for season)  Week 7 Results: 6-6-1 (+290)
Total wagered for Week 7: $4400 + $440 vig = $4840
Record against spread: 52-37 (58.4%)
